Refurbishment to of a Grade 1 listed building to create 64 new luxury residential flats and a 244 bedroom 5 star Hotel for Marriott.
1st Fix: This involved trimming out for new stairs / re-instating rotten or defective timbers /structural works to floors and roof/ forming new mezzanine floors.
2nd Fix: The existing doors were overhauled and refitted to all apartments and Hotel rooms. Picture /dado rail and panelled sections were repaired where necessary, new to match existing was made and fitted as required. We had to manufacture new doors to match existing and install them. The existing flooring had be regularised on site and installed. All old architrave had to be overhauled and re-fitted/ new architrave and skirting had to be manufactured to match existing and installed.
Specialist joinery such as the Moroccan screens were disassembled/ cleaned & re-glued with specialist craftsmen employed to form newly lathed sections to match existing.
Bspoke Joinery: From the photographs attached you can see that a high level of finish was specified to achieve the quality of marble & leather clad joinery. The leather was imported from America with a high quality “saddle” stitch effect along its edges, Marble was sourced from Italy with visits to the quarry to ensure the interior designers requirements were met.
Final Fix: Ironmongery consisted of ornate hand made door handles/knobs to match existing with brass finish to front of house areas with a brushed stainless steel finish to other areas.
