Langley Academy

The Langley Academy in Slough specialises in science and is attended by 1150 students. The main atrium is designed to accommodate large artefacts of scientific interest and also has the science rooms housed in brightly coloured pods on the first and second floors.

The building is designed with curved wings where the main classrooms are housed, with the sports hall and dance studios on the far side of the entrance atrium.

Atlantic Contracts Ltd worked closely with Foster and Partners and Wates during the design development of the sport hall screens and recording suite screen.

Atlantic Contracts Ltd supplied and fitted all the internal doorsets and ironmongery, acoustic and fire rated screens and plywood acoustic flooring.

The academy was completed on programme and to a high standard with the students arriving as planned in September 2008.
