Grosvenor Crescent
This particular project had a very long working programme due to the nature and extent of the works involved. The project is situated on Grosvenor Crescent which is a turning off Hyde Park Corner. The 8 houses on this development were originally the Headquarters of the British Red Cross organisation. These buildings are Grade 2 listed preventing any items and materials within the building to be removed, disposed of or altered without architectural permission.
The overall scheme was to completely refurbish all the houses from the outside roof down to the basement which would result in producing 14 luxury apartments. The scope of the works was very intense as all of the internal joisted floors had to be strengthened and acoustically rated. This also was carried out to a number of internal timber walls. Our internal scope of work included the following: Full floor joist strengthening and bracing, acoustic insulation and plasterboard planking, re-instatement of existing floorboards back in their original positions, fitting of extra layer of T&G plywood with resilient rubber mating, wall strengthening and insulation, forming of new floors with firings, new floor finishes and staircase joist trimming details and the installation of new staircases.
Our external scope of work included the following: Adding new rafters to all roofs, leveling of existing ceiling joists, forming of new box gutters, forming of new dormer windows, all new celotex insulation to roof space, refurbishing existing box gutters and windows, forming of new flat roofs in various locations and refurbishing of existing porch way entrance roofs.
