Coworth Park, Ascot
The Coworth House Hotel is situated in the Coworth Park Estate which is over 200 acres. The house is situated in 35 acres of gardens and woodlands and dates back to 1776.
The original house is formed from Georgian Architecture in a Palladian Manor House layout. The stables and barn have been converted to apartments and hotel rooms. The proposed conversion has transformed Coworth House into a 37 room and suite hotel with restaurants, bar spar and fitness centre with meeting and function facilities with a basement and three upper floors and the conversion of the existing Stables into 20 carriage suites. Just past the Stables are the Cottages, also fitted out to a luxurious standard.
In 2008, work started on renovating the main Georgian manor house to create a luxury country House Hotel estate and spa. Atlantic Contracts were awarded the contract to fit out all the joinery works to the Manor House, Stables, Cottages and Barn Restaurant.
Stables and Cottages:
This consisted of replacing all damaged joist and rafters with C24 grade timbers, increasing structural integrity where copper baths and stone floors were to be installed.
Barn Restaurant:
The Barn received a completely new ceiling with insulation, new doors inside and out and new soffits to the exterior.
Manor House:
The Manor House was completely stripped down to just the external walls and rebuilt to become a high standard hotel and spa.
Up and running since the autumn, Coworth Park is the Dorchester Collection’s eighth property.
